Sobre a WAFGA, World Amateur FootGolf Association
WAFGA is not and does not wish to be a governing body for the sport at the competitive professional level.
WAFGA is committed to being a ‘not for profit’ Association for players, partners and affiliates, its overarching priority is the continued development of the sport with the interests of the players at its center.
Having a short history (borned in 2009 – with a first European Tournament final in 2014), the Sport of FootGolf is structurating and organising itself progressively.
It has recently become more expensive to play international and sometimes national events to accomodade larger prizes pot and profits. WAFGA believe that during this growing process players should come first – not prizes and profits- Therefore the association goal is to promote unexpensive events opened to a majority of beginers and fun/social players.
One goal is to ensure the sustainability of the sport through the development of new players for the future.
One of the ultimate aims is to see a proportion of the ‘amateur’ FootGolfers become good enough to progress onto the Professional circuit, by providing a pathway so players can develop and eventually compete for the prize money.
